Detailed Description
In the home aquarium, Neon Tetras are considered relatively easy to care for and make excellent additions to a peaceful community tank. As shoaling fish, they are most active and comfortable when kept in groups of at least six, though schools of eight to twelve are highly recommended. For the optimal environment, they thrive in densely planted tanks that mimic their natural Amazonian habitat, requiring soft, slightly acidic water. With a balanced omnivorous diet of high-quality sinking micropellets, crushed flakes, and occasional treats like daphnia or tubifex, these dazzling fish typically live for two to three years in a well-maintained home aquarium, bringing a constant burst of color and movement to your setup.
